Making Connections
engaged participants in both the visual arts and theater. Making Connections was
held on the campus of the University of Idaho in Moscow. Evening events included
an evening of Nez Perce music and songs, a reading by author William Johnson,
a performance of Biloxy Blues, and a visit to the Third Street gallery to view
the paintings of artist Helen G. Wilson.
ArtsPowered Schools provided opportunities for all participants to gain knowledge
and skills in:

disciplines and the creative process
Making
connections to school goals and student learning
Access
to arts education resources
Continued
networking
All participants reported that the sessions helped them see the connections of
the arts across the curriculum.
All participants agreed or strongly agreed that they gained an understanding of
arts education resources throughout Idaho.
All participants reported that they will be able to incorporate ideas gained during
the ArtsPowered Institute in their classrooms.
24 out of 24 participating teachers stated that they would like to return next
summer!
